"Imperfect Perfection: Rediscovering Joy and Purpose”

I started this blog with the intention of encouraging others to incorporate daily practices that

support a positive mindset.

While I have embraced various mindset-enhancing exercises for the better part of my adult life, there recently came a point where I lost faith in myself and stopped showing up.

I found myself at a loss for words, feeling unqualified to offer advice, and overwhelmed by a general sense of anxiety.

Backstory… I've been a hairdresser for over 20 years, dedicating the last six to building my brand and business around hair extensions. I adore creating highly emotional transformations and forming personal relationships with my clients.

However, outside of my time behind the chair, I became consumed with constantly creating content and sharing my life with the online world.

Over the past year, I felt a calling to help people in a different way. Whether with the clients in my chair, friends, or coworkers, I noticed a common thread in everyone's struggles—their mindset.

It clicked.

I began having dreams and visions of guiding people out of their own way, helping them believe in themselves. So, I dove in headfirst. I created free guides and checklists to share my knowledge, aiming to build a new audience that could benefit from these tools (which is likely why you are reading this now).

I produced more content than ever before, but within a couple of months, I felt like I was drowning. It was around this time that fear and doubt sank their teeth into my core, draining all inspiration from me.

So, I took a step back from my blog, marketing, and sharing my life. I needed to reset and figure out why I didn't believe in my ability to help others, even though I knew what had always worked for me.

In the last couple of weeks, here's what I've realized…

First, if you're burnt out and need a break—take one. It really is that easy. The world keeps scrolling along, and when you're ready to jump back in, it's like you never left.

Second, if I want to help people maintain a positive mindset, KNOWING what to do and DOING them are two very different things. In short, the old adage "Practice what you preach" rang through my mind clear as day.

Lastly, we carry things with us throughout our lives that, if not properly digested, processed, or healed, will poison the well and follow us through every phase of life.

I've experienced more change this year than most, and while change is the most constant part of life, it can be hard to adjust to. I've lost relationships, both personal and professional, that have hurt my heart. There's quite a bit of past trauma I have yet to fully heal from, but with this awareness, I now intend to.

We all have so much potential inside of us, and I truly believe that we were put on this earth with a purpose. An astrologer once told me that my purpose in life is to share my story. Simple enough, right? This seemingly straightforward purpose has sparked more fear and doubt in me than I ever expected but also ignited a meaningful intention for my life.

So, I'm back to let you know, I'm not an expert. I am just an artist, a mom, an imperfect human who wants to help others live their lives with more joy, more passion, and more purpose. Our reality is ours to write, and everything we need is within us.

In embracing my imperfections, I've come to understand that being an expert isn't a prerequisite for making a positive impact. So, I invite you to join me on this journey—let's navigate the highs and lows, share our stories, and discover the joy, passion, and purpose that reside within each of us.

Our reality is a canvas waiting for the strokes of our unique narratives, and I'm excited to continue writing mine alongside you. Here's to embracing the journey and creating a life that resonates with authenticity and fulfillment.
